Our Vision
Through much time in prayer, discipleship, and communion with the Lord, we have a vision formed for the future of the Pinedas in Honduras. Yes, we strive to continue working alongside the Christian Community in Honduras assisting with short-term missions, church planting, VBS in the villages, and evangelism, but we also strive to eventually have our own non-profit ministry. We agree that the Lord has given us spiritual gifts to allow Him to work through us for His glory. We have taken in light the needs of Honduras and areas which the Lord has shown His hand in our own lives.
Life Skills Program
Our vision is to empower families with life skills for a successful and independent future. Young men and women who attend our program will learn life skills including welding, agriculture, and mechanical services as well as spiritual leadership skills that they can take home. The families which participate will also attend our weekly discipleship and outreach events. Our mission is to ease hunger in the heart of Honduras by equipping families to provide for themselves. We want to shift the plan of action against hunger to allow locals to contribute to the solution. We aim to create sustainable solutions that foster independence and lasting change. Teaching families how to grow their own resources will not only help them put food on their table but allow them to sell in the marketplace and spend less money purchasing outside goods. Farm to table food provides nutrient-rich sustenance for malnourished children. Life skills will help increase income and decrease hunger in homes.
Childcare
Once established, Cosechas del Buen Pastor intends to run a full-time affordable daycare for mothers who otherwise could not afford to work. Native women will also be hired to help run it affecting their personal and economic lives. Women who utilize this service will be poured into weekly via our women's ministry and the local community. We also strive to host a weekly meal for youth/children to be nourished and poured into.
Discipleship
We want to contribute to spiritual and personal growth in the community in Honduras through mentorship and guidance. Values and faith-based teachings are basis for a brighter future. This ministry will give new hope daily through what our Savior Jesus Christ has done. Humanitarian outreach will be a basis for our evangelism.
